Rhian Heasman
Development Director
I was first drawn to the CSJ having just lost my job in the 2017 General Election after leading the comms strategy for the outgoing MP… despite my apparent failings, the CSJ accepted me for a three-month internship where I worked on family and education policy. During my time, I became completely convinced by the CSJ’s mission to provide every opportunity for the poorest in this country to reach their full potential, and that it can only be achieved by addressing the root causes of poverty.
I went on to spend a few years at ComRes, in the political and media team running regular voting intention and media polling. As a trained quantitative and qualitative researcher, I worked on polling projects for political parties and think tanks… including the CSJ (the ‘Why Family Matters’ report). I couldn’t stay away long though and I now head up the Development Team and am responsible for persuading others to invest in our mission for those who are most struggling across this nation. Outside of work, I volunteer at a local youth club and mentor teenage girls in Wimbledon.
