APPG: School Exclusions and Alternative Provision: “What does quality look like in alternative provision?”
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on School Exclusions and Alternative Provision is a group of 13 MPs and Peers set up to improve outcomes for vulnerable children by facilitating upstream working to reduce preventable exclusions and improve the quality of education for children excluded from school.
During this session, the APPG met with headteachers, a LA improvement partner and parent to discuss the first question of their inquiry: “What does quality look like in alternative provision?”. They explored the components of good quality AP and how the answer to this question varies dependent upon pupil needs.
