In a year of turbulence the Centre for Social Justice remained unflinching in our mission to put social justice at the heart of British politics.
Between 2022-23 we published 19 reports, advancing over 170 nation-changing recommendations across areas as diverse as economic inactivity to school absence, domestic abuse to modern slavery.
Inspired by those fighting poverty on the frontlines of Britain’s communities, 51 per cent of our recommendations were adopted by the Government and Labour Party – driving £13.7 billion of investment to policies to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged members of society.
But we didn’t stop there. Through the CSJ Foundation we engaged with more than 330 grassroots charities to bring their voices into national policy making and distributed £3.6m philanthropic funding to some of the best small charities in the UK.
